According to Jarosz, life coaches do not perceive their clients as though they need to be “fixed” – instead, they focus on future outcomes rather than past issues. (Jarosz, 2022)

Coaching does not require resolving past issues for the client to make progress as is centered on improving the present, exploring opportunities, and building a better future.

A skilled coach may use details shared by the client about their past to help clarify their current situation.
